Every Friday, Illinois Mutual policyowner Rick Murray goes golfing with his good friend Bob Marquis. The two met more than 20 years ago when they worked in the same office building. Over the years, they’ve changed jobs and buildings but remained friends. On the golf course, Rick counts on Bob to keep him playing his best but off the course, he counts on Bob to keep his retirement in top form.

Along with two partners, Rick owns a full-service real estate appraisal firm that evaluates both residential and commercial property. Being self employed, he knew he would have to fund his own retirement and was looking for someone he could count on to provide solid financial advice. Bob, a friend already, was the natural choice.
