New Company Website Success

If you have visited our website in the past, you are likely now noticing its new look. Illinois Mutual launched a newly redesigned website to the public on May 31. According to research reviewed by our Marketing Communication & Research Department, the new Illinois Mutual website has surpassed expected goals set during the development stage of the site.
The new design has reduced the site’s bounce (leave the site, rather than continue viewing) rate by 91 percent and increased time spent on the site by 38 percent. Using these website analytics, it is reasonable to conclude the new design is creating a better user experience for visitors and aiding them in finding information they need. Together the Marketing Communication & Research and Information Technology Departments, developed the improved company website. The project began in February with all teams working together to find the right solutions for the new Illinois Mutual website. A primary goal was to redesign the website to make it as user-friendly as possible for our visitors. Secondary goals included creating a consistent look and feel across all Illinois Mutual digital properties to enhance our branding and improve website metrics such as the number of visits, bounce rate, time spent on the site, and average pages viewed per visit.
To ensure long-term success of Illinois Mutual’s digital websites the Marketing Communications & Research Department is continuing with plans to work on a number of related digital initiatives. “We are now focused on redesigning the Spanish version of IllinoisMutual.com, optimizing the new website for mobile platforms and creating an Agent Recruitment page,” said Emily Cook, Creative and Production Supervisor.
