Connect with your clients

The Agent Forum also houses your ability to create illustrations and prospects for your clients. With this tool, simply enter in some basic information about your client to generate an illustration. We will walk you though the process of adding a prospect and running illustrations for your clients in this video.

Adding Prospects and Running a Disability Income Insurance Illustration

  1. Go to www.illinoismutual.com.

  2. Click the “Agents” link near the top right of the page.

  3. Click “Log In/Register.”

  4. Enter your email and password.

  5. Hover over the green tab that says “Prospects/Illustrations.”

  6. Click the “Create/Edit an Illustration” button.

  7. In this tab, you may select an existing illustration to edit by clicking on the client name.

To add a new client, click “Add Prospect/Create Illustration.”

  8. Complete all the required fields, as noted by the red asterisk.

  9. Select the Disability Income checkbox in the box near the bottom of the screen, and complete the required information in this box.

If you are unsure of your client’s occupation class, you can click on the blue question mark bubble to the right of this question.

  10. If your client is self-employed or a business owner looking for Business Overhead Expense DI coverage, be sure to check the “yes” box under the question “Is the Prospect self-employed?”

You will need to enter their total average monthly expenses in order to run your illustration.

    • Don’t forget to include the W-2 class upgrade or Business owner class upgrade, if your client is eligible! Please reach out to our sales team if you are unsure about these upgrades.

  11. Once all the information has been entered, use the dropdown near the bottom of the screen to select a plan for your illustration.

If you have previously run an illustration and want to edit one, you may choose an option in the “Existing Illustrations” dropdown menu.

  12. On the next screen, you can customize the illustration to meet your client’s needs.

Choose an elimination period (how long they can go before benefits kick in) and benefit period (how long they would like their disability benefits to last) that is suited to your client’s situation.

    • The benefit amount will automatically default to the maximum available based on your client’s salary. You can adjust this amount based on how much protection your client wants.

  13. We offer a myriad of optional riders to choose from to personalize your client’s disability income plan.

Premiums and medical requirements will update on this screen as you add options to the illustration.

  14. We offer a 5% discount on DI policies in a variety of situations. Be sure to check the box to add the 5% discount if any of these situations apply.

    • Multi-life discount

    • Multi-policy discount

    • Association discount

  15. The grey buttons along the top allow you to save the illustration, create a duplicate, view/print it, or delete it.

If you are finished with your illustration click the view/print button.

  16. Once you return to the illustration page, you can now run your Business Expense DI illustration.

Use the “Create New Illustration” drop down and select the Business Expense Power option to run this illustration.

  17. Similar to the individual DI plan, you now choose your elimination period, benefit period, and add optional riders.

You can view or print the illustration in the same way as with the prior individual DI illustration. We encourage you to reach out to your dedicated sales team, who is always willing to assist you in building a plan or running an illustration.
