Georgia and South Carolina Hurricane Disaster Areas
Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by by Hurricane Dorian in Georgia and South Carolina, including our own Illinois Mutual policyowners and agents who have suffered due to this event. As a company dedicated to giving back to others, we are extending our service offerings to help those affected by this natural disaster.
Effective immediately, the following actions are applicable until October 29, 2019 for all affected policyowners in South Carolina and Georgia counties: Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Echols, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Ware, and Wayne, and any other counties that subsequently declare an emergency due to the dangerous and damaging conditions that resulted from Hurricane Dorian.
Illinois Mutual is taking the following actions:
- Extensions on payment of premium. Policyowners in affected counties may defer premium payments that come due, interest-free, until October 29, 2019. Any cancellation or lapse notices you receive may be ignored if the lapse or cancellation date is prior to October 29, 2019. Premium should be remitted by October 29, 2019.
- Extensions on other time limits. Illinois Mutual is extending the time periods for taking other actions that have time limits, such as the submission of a claim, proof of loss or other information, up to and including October 29, 2019.
